Lexi: Let's go for a walk! A walk! I want to go for a walk!

Me: Lex, it's pouring out, we can't walk today.

Lexi: Oh, okay. So . . . you wanna go for a walk?

Me: No.

Lexi: Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, know what would be fun?

Me: The answer had better not be 'a walk.'

Lexi: Yea! A walk! That would be super fun! Like, the most fun we could possibly have ever! Except for bacon. Eating bacon is fun, too. And hotdogs. And chicken. And those little fish shaped cheese cracker things . . .

Me:

Lexi: Can we go now?

Me:

Lexi: How about now?

Me: Leave me alone.

Lexi: Is it time to go out now? Because I don't know if you've noticed, but we haven't gone for our walk yet . . .
