Still Sick

Sorry I haven't been around for the past few days. I'm still sick with the Flu from Hell. Day seven, and I'm still coughing and wheezing and coughing up nasty green globs.

We're having a cold snap here in Florida, cold enough that I actually dragged all of my orchid plants inside and broke out my flannel pajamas. I had to laugh at my mother, though, who spent thirty years braving the Central New York winters, and now after a decade in Florida thinks it's ungodly cold out when the weather dips below fifty degrees.

George is the same way, although that's more understandable, since he grew up in the South. I keep opening windows to let in the fresh air, and he walks around insisting that his teeth are chattering.

"And you wanted to move to New Hampshire," I scoffed. George daydreams of living in a farmhouse in rural New England, like a modern day Robert Frost. "You wouldn't last a month."

"They have fireplaces up there," he insists, yet again shutting the sliding doors that lead out to our screened in porch.

Hmph. When I was at college in Syracuse, we used to sunbathe when it got this warm out.
