About Me
I was a lawyer before I was a writer, but I’ve never been to court.
I married my law school sweetheart, George. George is the smartest person I've ever met. And he does an excellent imitation of Thurston Howell III from Gilligan's Island.
We have a son named Sam. Sam has the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen. He smiles with his entire body. I’m powerless against his smile.
We also two pugs: Lulu (short for Tallulah Bankhead) and Zoë.
I live in Florida, even though hot weather makes me cranky.
I bake when I’m stressed out. My brownies and strawberry-rhubarb pies are to die for.
At the age of twelve I was convinced I was destined to be an Olympic competitor in the equestrian Three Day Event, just like Sarah in International Velvet.
My motto in life is a Winston Churchill saying: Never, never, never quit.
My favorite place in the entire world is London. I lived there for five months while in college.
I adore 1980's New Wave music, but I detest the songs Mickey by Tony Basil and Centerfold by the J. Giles Band.
I’ve never read any of the Russian novels. I keep meaning to, but somehow never get around to it.
My sixth adult novel, Good Luck, will be released on October 28, 2008.
I also write Young Adult fiction under my pen name, Piper Banks. My second YA book, Geek Abroad, will be released on May 6, 2008.
